The Power of Connections
{mosimage}For centuries movers and shakers have understood the power of personal connections. They have leveraged these connections to accomplish their goals and reach their dreams. However, they also had the key (the secret), to connecting that others did not. That secret: Give First.
Highly successful Sales Professionals and Business Leaders in today’s world are connecting with each other at a frantic pace. Web 2.0 and the technological advances that have followed have made connecting in the 21st century a global affair. To coin a phrase, “the world is flat”. We are conecting with everyone - every where. There is value in building a wide network and progressive professionals are taking every opportunity to create connections.
In sales, connections will get you in the door and in front of the right people faster than traditional cold calling. When your connections introduce you to people inside of their network your message has immeadiate relevance.
"In other words, your network is more powerful than any other means of prospecting."
Your network is also critical to managing and building your career. This is especially true in sales. As a Sales Professional it is likely that you will change jobs every three to four years. With a strong connected network you will easily make the transition from company to company, earn more salary and end the stress of “looking” for work. When you are connected, work will come to you.
On The Sales Gravy Network, you can connect with Sales Professionals and experts from every industry - all over the world to:
- Build Your Career
- Share and Exchange Sales Tips
- Create Lead Exchange Networks and Clubs in Your Community
- Create and Host Sales Forums
- Create Private Groups for your Sales Team
- Develop Lastng Freindships with People Who Share Your Love for Sales
{mosimage}It is also important to reach out using tools like LinkedIn, Plaxo, Facebook,eCademy, and Active Rain. The more connections and more ways to connected the better.
I have posted links to a couple of books I reccomend on networking and connecting. These resources will help you learn the skills that will help you build a network that will take you straight to the top.
