Service Sales Account Manager, Industrial Gears

For the Voith Turbo, Sales department, we are looking for:

Service Sales Account Manager, Industrial Gears
Houston, TX

Service Sales for Voith Turbo and Non-Voith products and services within the assigned region for Voith Industry Division while achieving the objectives outlined by group management including but not limited to:
  • Developing new customers including repair and service of competitor products with particular focus on gears and gearbox's in the upstream and downstream of the Power, Oil & Gas market
  • Continued Identification of Voith installed equipment, and create/maintain information database
  • Creating Customer Profiles
  • Customer Maintenance and Outage Planning
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Upkeep of Global Project List (GPL) and Go2Turbo databases for all sales activity
  • Promote sales of spare parts, services and complete units including retrofit opportunities
  • There is a requirement/expectation that all Account Managers will make a minimum of 7 face to face customer visits per month and file reports describing visit content/results.
  • Travel to/from customer sites will include air travel as well as motor vehicle operation. Individual travel times could be up to 7 hours per day.
  • Development of Service Agreements and Service Exchange programs
  • Provide field support for service department in areas of customer quoting and follow-up
  • Work could include working on/around gas turbine installations, pump installations, compressor drives, conveyor drives and mining facilities requiring a high level of physical fitness and manual dexterity
  • Work with Inside Sales, Field Service, Retrofit and Engineering departments to establish schedules and priorities for field, in-house repairs, part and unit sales, retrofit projects and engineering.
  • Provide sales support for direct sales through authorized, independent sales representatives and distributor organization.
  • Participate at trade show exhibits
  • Assist in overdue invoice collection as requested by management.

Professional Experience & Education:
  • Proven professional service sales experience
  • 5 years related experience with Rotating Machinery products & services
  • Hydrodynamics experience very helpful
  • Gears/gearbox experience required
  • Technical Degree from a two-year college or university
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific Skills & Knowledge (Ex: Language, IT skills):
  • Experience providing customer service support via visits, telephone and e-mail
  • Experience with conducting jobsite visits, dealing with jobsite personnel and safety requirements
  • Good organizational skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple independent tasks including but not limited to forecasting and CRM tool management.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written; ability to clearly and concisely relay information to customers through both quotations and phone conversations
  • Experience managing customer contact and projects for multi-faceted organization
